I gave my heart to you
And asked for nothing in exchange
You smiled and said you loved me
And my world exploded
In a fiery brilliant blaze

I put my trust in you
But hoped for something more
You smiled and said you'd always care for me
But your simple beauty
Was all I ever saw

I gave you all your power
But sensed your crueller games
You smiled and said you'd never hurt me
As you wounded me with one hand
And with the other fanned the flames
